This procedure addresses upper eyelid sagging, dark circles or under-eye bags, crepe-y skin, and hollowed facial features. It is a full-circle experience that will completely rejuvenate your face and your spirit.

What Treatments Are Combined in the Full Circle?

Upper Blepharoplasty

As the body ages, the eyelids begin to stretch and the supporting muscles weaken, causing excess skin to hang over the eyes. This can cause the eyes to look overly tired. Upper eyelid surgery removes and repositions the excess tissue while tightening the surrounding muscle fibers through a fine incision hidden in the natural crease of the eyelid. The result is a natural eyelid closure that restores a youthful appearance to the face.

Lower Blepharoplasty

Through a hidden incision inside the eyelid this procedure removes excessive tissue and fat in the under-eye area. Sometimes excessive skin is removed with a small incision along the lash line. The skin is then tightened and repositioned to balance the symmetry of the eyes. The resulting outcome is a smooth and compact under-eye surface that looks rested and firm.

Skin Rejuvenation

Crepe-y skin can make the face look and feel more weathered and aged than it may actually be. Comprehensive skin rejuvenation is accomplished by addressing  the epidermis (external layer) and dermis (internal layer). Skin texture is made smoother with a chemical or laser peel. Skin elasticity and suppleness are refreshed with rejuvenating radiofrequency energy.

Volumizing Injections

In cases where there is hollowing of the facial structure, dermal fillers can be injected to restore a supple appearance to the face. The human body contains hyaluronic acid that is responsible for making the skin look hydrated and plump. As the body ages, the depletion of hyaluronic acid can cause a sunken or drooping appearance that decreases the vibrancy of the face. The beauty of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers is that they add contour by restoring lost volume. The injections are customized to each individual’s face, creating a natural brilliance that can take years off of the complexion.  By injecting small amounts of dermal fillers into the hollowed areas, this natural luster is restored. Autologous (your own) fat grafting is also an option for replenishing volume.

Adult patients in good health who wish to rejuvenate their eyes and face will be great candidates for this procedure. If you are a smoker, or if you struggle with severe dry eye, thyroid disease, or diabetes, you will need to let Dr. Cox know, because those conditions could negatively impact the healing process. Above all, your health and safety are Dr. Cox’s top priorities, and she wants the best possible outcome for every patient that walks through her doors.

What Is the Treatment and Recovery Process?

The Full Circle is performed with a combination of oral or IV sedation and local anesthesia for maximal comfort. General anesthesia may also be used. The incisions are hidden in the natural creases of the eyelid and lash line in order to reduce any visible scarring.

The chemical or laser peel will remove the surrounding crepe-y, wrinkled skin to brighten the complexion, and the rejuvenating radiofrequency energy will densify loose tissue, while volumizers will be applied to any areas with excessive hollowing.

You will need to avoid heavy exercise and protect your skin with the prescribed ointment while it is healing. Elevating your head at night will also aid in the reduction of swelling. As your eyes and skin recover, you will be amazed by the gorgeous reflection staring back at you in the mirror. This treatment is truly the full circle.
