Are You Ready to Smize?

The eyes and brows function as a single unit. They undergo changes together with time, leading to hollowing (volume loss), wrinkling, and drooping. This treatment focuses on maintaining the shape and structural integrity of the brows, which frame the eyes, with customized hyaluronic acid and/or bio-stimulatory injections along the brows and temples. Then, a delicate amount is also injected around the eyes for optimal refreshing. Neurotoxin (BOTOX, Dysport) microinjections minimize and prevent wrinkles around the eyes and, finally, the skin is brightened with a light chemical or laser peel.

The Smize Procedure

Hyaluronic Acid

A substance that is naturally occurring in the human body, hyaluronic acid is responsible for ensuring a hydrated and supple appearance to the skin. When the brows and temples become hollow or start to droop, the face can begin to look tired and weathered. By injecting medical-grade dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid around the brow and orbital structural framework, the body can integrate the addition naturally while replenishing the volume and contour of a youthful complexion.

Bio-stimulatory Injections

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatments are two types of bio-stimulatory injections that stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen. By taking a small amount of the patient’s blood and spinning it through a centrifuge, the blood is separated, and the components are concentrated into a solution rich with platelets and stem cells, that are then injected around the brow, temples, and eyes to revitalize the delicate area.

Neurotoxins

An FDA-approved treatment for softening wrinkles and fine lines, neurotoxins are made up of botulinum toxin and work on the muscle fibers by limiting their ability to contract. This effectively relaxes the muscles, causing lines and folds in the skin to soften or disappear. With microinjections into the little lines known as “crow’s feet” around the eyes, this treatment clears away wrinkles, so the eyes beam with vivaciousness.

Resurfacing

A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to remove the external dermal layer where scars, blemishes, imbalances, wrinkles, or otherwise damaged skin may be contributing to an aged, tired appearance to the face. Using a light chemical peel, the superficial layer of imperfect skin is dissolved, and what heals in its place is a fresh, dazzling complexion.

Tightening

Skin elasticity and suppleness are refreshed with rejuvenating radiofrequency energy. This powerful nonsurgical treatment targets deep dermal tissue to densify these layers, resulting in tightened and radiant skin.

What Is the Recovery Process?

Because there are multiple treatments involved in the Smize procedure, you will want to be very gentle with the area. The treatments may also be staged, for pristinely natural results. There may be some bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness that can be soothed with cold compresses or cool air. You will want to avoid touching the injected areas for the first four hours. Refrain from any strenuous exercise for the first day or so, and make sure to keep your head elevated by sleeping with an extra pillow to reduce swelling.
